FIRST AUTHOR SIGNING

I dropped into my local Waterstones and asked if they would let me have a signing. They were great and we set the time for the 20 th August.

Come the day, there I am ( an hour early). I took a pad of paper to look busy as I didn’t want to be Billy no mates. My first customer was fantastic, really interested in the whole story. It was great to sell a book to someone in person. As you don’t see sales numbers from the publisher’s. They are worried tlthat us authors would expect to be paid before any returned unsold books are included.

In the end I sold fifteen books, which was nearly my entire stock. I met a load of really great people. Even those who did not buy were interested and took some of the sales literature.

So thank you Waterstones for the experience. All I have to do now is invoice them and I see the first returns for all my efforts.
